Need almost 45min drive from Koli. If you want an experience of the middle of nowhere with friends and family, this summer bungalow (not cottage) is right place for you.

I've been there for a few days last August (2018): great experience!
Anton, the owner, has managed everything. The view, the structure (and the sauna) are fantastic: rally immersed in wild nature.
During the day we had a seminar with 15+ people, and lunch was managed through a catering service. Super efficient and very good quality of food.
Would definitely recommend it.

Great place for company retreats, workshops or family reunions.
The Sutinen family who owns the place are truly devoted in developing tourism in the beautiful North Karelia region and hosted our summer school on ICT to promote sustainable tourism in world heritage sites. In our 3-day workshop in their cozy family cottage, they were not only engaged in our proposals, but also supported us to get to know the region better.

I am truly looking forward to visiting Vaarinkallio again.

A nice cozy place that is so close to the lake that you will be tempted to jump in it after your sauna session (yup, there is a sauna in the cottage). It is spacious and you will feel at home as soon as you step over the treshold.

The cottage is in the middle of forest, perfect for study sessions, work retreats or family/friends get-aways. The surrounding nature sounds and peacefullness are going to bring the most creativity and the most relaxation to anyone visiting.

There are a couple of boats, so you can go explore the lake. There are a couple of hiking paths, if you wish to go mushroom/berry picking, as well.

I had the most amazing time there and would recommend it to anyone!

The undisturbed peacefulness of Vaarinkallio enabled our international group of 12 workshop attendees to pause, unwind, and let our thoughts flow free for three days. The owners had prepared everything from meals (from local ingredients, of course) to sauna ready for us to just walk in, kick back, and enjoy our discussions. One astonishing detail of the experience was that even inside you feel like you're outside; the nature gets close to you and you get close to the nature. It's the kind of place that lets your thoughts wander unbound.
