Vilket ställe! Fantastisk personal, mysiga ställplatser. Nyrenoverat servicehus. Restaurangen? Hade kunnat skriva en bok… åt den bästa fish ’n chips någonsin och maken åt deras renburgare som var superb! Stort plus till deras lokalproducerade öl. Önskar jag har vägarna förbi fler gånger!

My partner and I stayed at Muotkan Ruoktu for two nights and deeply regretted not booking longer! The accommodations were lovely, with lots of variety and price points. They were in the midst of some renovations but you’d never know: even the facilities they said were in need of updates were perfectly clean and functional. The renovated sections and cabins were all gorgeous. It’s the perfect respite after a long day hiking the nearby trails.
We had dinner at the attached restaurant both nights we stayed and it was some of the best food we’ve had while in Finland. Everything was cooked perfectly, well seasoned, and beautifully plated. As if the location and amenities were not enough - all of the staff is kind, helpful and incredibly charming. There are few places you can stay that offer it all, but Muotkan Ruoktu does just that. We’re already daydreaming about the next time we can visit!

Ein wunderschönes Fleckchen Erde, welches Kevin, Kinga und ihrer Helfer hier im letzten Jahr erschaffen haben. Es ist alles vorhanden was man braucht und vieles ist noch im Aufbau oder könnte etwas verbessert werden. Die Entleerung der Camping Toilette könnte z.B. etwas niedriger sein. 😉

Und wenn jeder die Duschen und Toiletten so hinterlassen würde wie man sie vorgefunden hat, wären die auch jederzeit sauber und sicher eine große Unterstützung für das gesamte Team.

Das Essen im Restaurant ist super und eine Empfehlung unsererseits.

Von der Umgebung brauchen wir nicht sprechen. Wir sind im Norden Finnlands, hier ist es traumhaft schön. Aber dafür gibt's jetzt ein paar Fotos 😉.

Waren am 17.09. hier. Ein schöner kleiner Platz mit freier Platzwahl. Betreiber sind super nett. Das Essen kann nur empfohlen werden. Wir hatten Fish and Chips. Die Sanitäranlagen super modern und sauber.

I loved this campsite! It’s a work in progress, but the charm and potential are already shining through. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, thanks to the amazing owners who make you feel right at home. The restaurant is great – tasty food, very good wine and beer. Bathrooms are clean and have hot water, which is always a plus.
I really enjoyed my stay and would love to come back in winter to experience the place in a different season!

To miejsce jest absolutnie wyjątkowe – prawdziwa perełka na końcu świata. Jedzenie zachwyca – tradycyjna zupa z łososia jest pyszna i koi, a danie z renifera to smak, którego nie da się zapomnieć. Ale najpiękniejsze jest to, co tworzy Pani Kinga – wspaniała Polka, która przyjmuje gości z taką serdecznością i ciepłem, że od razu czujesz się jak u siebie. Co więcej, można tu także przenocować, więc to idealne miejsce, by zatrzymać się na dłużej i poczuć niezwykłą atmosferę. To nie tylko restauracja, to spotkanie z dobrym człowiekiem i niezapomniane chwile. Jeśli będziecie w tej okolicy – musicie tu zajrzeć!

Tilattiin lohikeitto 18 e. Odotimme tämän oloisesta paikasta annoskokoa tavallisen suomalaisen lohikeiton tapaan reilummaksi, mutta se oli ilmeisesti keski-Eurooppalaista tasoa, aivan liian pieni pääruuaksi suomalaisittain tottuneena. Alkuruoaksi olisi ollut sopiva annos.
Leipä oli paahtoleipää ja voi tuotiin muovinapeissa, ei lautasella ja makua eli voita/maitoa olisi saanut olla enemmän. Pyysimme santsin mahdollisuutta ja annoimme palautetta itse omistajalle, mutta saimme vastaukseksi olankohautuksen ja paikalta pois kiirehtimisen. Pettymys.

We ordered salmon soup for 18 euros. We expected a larger portion size from a place like this, like a regular Finnish salmon soup, but it was obviously of Central European standard, too small for a main course, as Finnish people are used to. It would have been a suitable portion for a starter.
The bread was toast (not rieska) and the butter was brought in plastic tabs, not on a plate and there should have been more flavor, i.e. butter/milk. We asked for the option of a refill and gave feedback to the owner himself, but we got a shrug and the owner just hurried away. Disappointing.

Staying at Muotkan Ruoktu was an absolutely amazing experience! We visited at the end of winter(Feb 2025). The cottages were cozy and well-equipped, providing a comfortable retreat in the cold. The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home.

There were plenty of activities to enjoy in the surrounding wilderness, and the hosts were always supportive in arranging and guiding us through them. There was also ample space to play in the snow, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

The setting was quiet, serene, and truly refreshing. A small on-site restaurant offered a good selection of food, adding to the convenience. If you're looking for a peaceful yet adventurous getaway in the Northern Finland, this is the perfect place!
